Foto Friday - It's Springing . . .

. . .  right outside my front door.

I love spring anywhere, but if I could choose I would always greet it in a garden.
~Ruth Stout

And it's a good thing because this week that is about the only place I have been able to greet it.
Not on a walk on the birding trail, or at my favorite garden center, and certainly not at the butterfly garden!
Just outside my front door . . .

About this same time last week I was taking photos and like I normally do I knealt down
on my knee (the already bad one) and when I got up...well, let's just say it hasn't been the same.
As in, I can't walk on it. I had to go in for an MRI today and with the help of sedation (and my sweet husband) I got through it with flying colors! Now I wait with fingers crossed . . . for good news.

(Insert violin music here, for my little pitty party)

Besides the gray, gloomy, and dismal days we have been having which is outside the realm of normal
here, I've also been having a dysfunctional relationship with a pair of crutches.
So, I decided to take some cuttings of my Indian Hawthorne's inside for a little photo shoot, which didn't last long as I was feeling a little distracted . . . by all the bees . . . gathering pollen outside my front door.

Do you see it, the light of the sun? It tried to shine it's way through the clouds for a brief second.

And then one second more....

I'm not sure what it is about the honey bee....but I could watch them all day long!

{Shoot, edit, submit}

(Thanks for your indulgence in my little pity party)

Have a wonderful weekend friends!
What's the first thing to spring out your front door?

Love, Kim

Gorgeous photos Kim. Your first is so dreamily beautiful. Hoping for good news about your knee too. I hadn't realise how much you use your knees and back taking photos until I get behind the camera myself.

So pretty. And I'm with you-when the blossoms are out I can sit for hours with the bees- infind that their butts are far to
Often in my shots!!!

Such pretty photos - and I love your 'ish'! It looks a bit honeycomb-ish as well as abstract-ish.

Sorry to hear about your knee. Hope you get good news and are feeling better soon. I've had a sore hip for a couple of months and just read in two places that magnesium is the supplement of choice for joint pain. Don't know if that applies to your situation or not ...

Thanks for linking up with Photo Art Friday Kim.

These are just gorgeous captures of the honey bee and the flowers. You definitely got lovely lighting in there also. Hope your knee is getter quick as that is not very fun and certainly makes it hard to get around. Be sure to stop in my blog also and get a chance to win some of Bonnie's textures.

Bees are really fascinating to watch as they go about their work. However, I love the top image of the Indian Hawthorne in the pitcher. Just a truly great image.
Thanks for sharing.

Yes I can see the soft swing light in pictures and they warm me up. I SO miss that light and spring. We have so long way till spring. I love every single picture of yours and it is so great I can enjoy the spring through them.

Those bee pictures are fantastic! Beeee-yootiful. I empathize with your knee pain as I am there too. As for crutches....oh, no.

Lovely! Hope you are fully mobile again soon! I know how frustrating that is!

These are all gorgeous Kim!
I especially love the last one here.
I know it won't make you feel any better, but no one is more dysfunctional on crutches than I was. The doctor actually suggest I stop using them for fear I woukd further injure myself. So uncoordinated on them. Probably pretty funny too. :-(

Great shots Kim! I love the last bee shot.
It must be the week for bees... my shoot edit submit was bees too :)

I do hope it's good news with your knee & it improves. Knees are such annoying joints (I've had 6 knee surgeries)!
