Photo-heart connection, number III

I took a walk last week . . .

. . . and on this walk I came across these, growing along the side of the road, by the small bridge
I often cross to get to the bay. There was just a handful all by themselves, and as insignificant
as they looked as I started to pass by,  I without hesitation knelt to the ground and it was love at first site!

This image reminds me of simplicity. The simple things in life that are not complicated, which are not pretentious, and that bring an incredible feeling of happiness for me in the form of joy. That moment when I was looking through my lens, the beautiful golden light that washed over the flowers and the way that they gently danced in the breeze. . . .it was a moment of absolute contentment, and of simple joy.

{Sigh} . . .

This image and that moment remind me that joy is not found in the waiting, and certainly not in perfection. In fact I think most of my joy comes from those imperfect moments, the ones I don't plan . . . the ones I find in the now. It reminds me that no matter who or what tries to beat me down, that amidst the chaos of life and its difficulties, that I can still choose to be joyful in the simple things around me.

Because if I don't choose joy now . . . then when?

Love, Kim
XO

Love the light in that image, it feels restful and makes me want to stop and take a breath. I can definitely see why you were drawn to it and why you chose it for this months Photo Heart Connection. Love the words that accompany it too, just beautiful.

This photo does make me take a breath and let out a big sigh!! I love it; gorgeous light, wonderful focus, and lovely background bokeh! I find I get the most joy when I try to capture the simple and beautiful, not when I try to make it perfect. Great Photo-Heart Connection!!

That was really inspiring from Kim this week wasn't it? I have so little time left before leaving that I'm just left with thinking of that phrase "if not now, when?" many times over.

I love your photo and how you can find beauty in everything.

Beautiful image and I couldn't agree more with you conclusion:
"...I think most of my joy comes from those imperfect moments, the ones I don't plan . . . the ones I find in the now.""

Beautiful photo and text. Yes, there are moments in life when the simplest things give us the biggest messages in life.
Choosing joy now is the only one we can choose because the now is all there is!
Lovely.

This is a beautiful post. mmmm I can almost feel that warm sunshine on my skin. When I was a young girl I remember how happy the weeds along the side of a road would make me. Thanks for reminding me.

I adore this post, Kim. It is the simple things, experienced in the moment, that bring us the most joy. It is a gorgeous photograph, lovely light and angle, but it's your words along with it that bring me the most joy. Thank you for sharing in the Photo-Heart Connection!

Beautiful words and picture Kim. You are so right- true joy comes from the moment. If we wait for the perfect thing- we have already missed so very much.

Have a wonderful week- take more beautiful pictures!!
