I don't think there is anything comparable to watching the sun rise. Until just about 4 years ago I had never watched a sunrise, certainly not over a large body of water. I find it a little humorous though that the thing that most frightened me about moving here is now where I find so much joy. I can't even imagine not being able to get up early, well maybe not the early part, and partake in the watching of something so incredible. It's such an amazingly powerful experience, something we take for granted everyday. But everyday as the world turns, and we can pin it down to an exact time, the sun will rise. It ascends over the horizon as if by magic and makes everything new again. Besides the obvious beauty of it, I think it also represents for me consistency in an inconsistent world. That no matter what is happening in my life, I can count on the sun to rise. And right now, I need that more than anything.
"The human spirit needs places where nature has not been rearranged by the hand of man."
And every time I have watched the sunrise it has been with the same painter, the only thing that changes are His brushes and His palette.
I would love to watch one from a skyrise in the city, with a balcony of course so I could take pictures! So curiously I wonder have you ever watched the sun rise?"Two golden hours somewhere between sunrise and sunset. Both are set with 60 diamond minutes. No reward is offered. They are gone forever."
- Horace Mann
Hope you are all having a peaceful day.
