Yep, that's right, snowflakes straight from the North Pole!
Huh? What?
Yes, they are magical and exciting and if you allow them they may just awaken the child in your soul.
It's a little early and quite unexpected but I've had a surprise visit from an old friend so dear,
it took just a second then I knew why he was here.
You see, it had been a while since he heard my son call him by name,
and he missed playing and hiding and well, just being near.
My visit was from "Matt", a magical Elf!!
(He found my stash of peppermint kisses!)
He even finished the Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream !
So, my boy who is now 14 asked me the other day where I got Matt.
I told him he came from the North Pole, of course. "No mom, really, where did you get him?"
I told him perhaps you forgot about the wish you made to have your own Elf, that comes to life
with North Pole snowflakes and gets into mischief in the middle of the night.
Who had to ask Santa for special permission each year, after working so hard and checking the list twice,
to visit a special friend who had been so very nice!
Santa always hated to see Matt go and in our letter he said, "But you'll share kindness and goodness, and have lots of fun, And you'll let your friend know that God brought love through His Son. So go visit for
Christmas and teach what I've taught that the best gifts are those that can never be bought.
Christmas is brighter and dreams will come true if you share love and kindness in all that you do."
After moving twice I'm surprised that he found us again!
But he said, "I've watched you from afar and in my heart you've grown dear,
I made my way here with you as my guide,
I'll be dear to your heart and close by your side."
This was the last time we saw Matt . . .
I told Matt that he was just a little early, that he should lay low until the day after Thanksgiving.
And it would be our little secret, (and now yours).
But he wanted me to share in case you want to join in the fun
with your own Elf-Magic when all's said and done!
We're never too old for a little Christmas adventure,
Love, Kim
