Today I'm sharing my photo-heart connection over at The Kat Eye Studio.
Wondering what this is, check this out.
As I began to look back at my images for the month
there were a few that gave me that warm and fuzzy feeling, just not quite the
photo-heart connection I was looking for . . . so I went back a couple more weeks.
And . . .
It hit me . . as soon as I saw this image again . . . this is my photo-heart connection.
The one that stirs something inside, the one that begs me to ask why.
The one that stirs something inside, the one that begs me to ask why.
I was drawn to his hands, and as I get older I notice things like this more often.
I see the time written on his hands and realize that we live too many cursory moments in our lives.
Our world has become one of instant rewind in technology . . . we aren't so lucky in real life.
People matter . . . that's what this image tells me.
That behind every single person there is a story, a truth and wisdom and a need for connection.
That this life isn't about me, but something bigger and that in this life it's about
allowing myself to be connected to who God puts in my path, even if it's only for a fleeting moment.
It reminds me I need to pay more attention.
It reminds me that the world, my life, is really a lot of small moments that equal a lifetime.
Ones I do not get to rewind . . .
I truly look forward to your heart connections and learning from them!
Love, Kim
XO
Beautiful post! And I love the focus on the hands of the musician, too. Your words really resonate with me today.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, both image and words! Aging hands show both wisdom and the hardships of life...and to see these hands lovingly playing the guitar is very poignant. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThis could not possibly be a more wonderful photo-heart connection Kim!
ReplyDeleteI so loved reading this post.
It is really beautifully written.
You have a wonderful weekend my Friend.
xo.
I really love this photo-heart connection image. It really makes you stop and reflect about something more than yourself. I think the hands and eyes tell a lot about a person . . . they hold so many stories.
ReplyDeleteGreat image! I love captures like these. I posted one very similar last year for WW entitled "When words fail, music speaks"
ReplyDeleteI love your photo and your words. There is something about hands that tell such a story and you've expressed it so beautifully.
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely post and photo! I however, could do without the age-ness on my hands! hee
ReplyDeleteNice shot, excellent framing with a nice light.
ReplyDeleteThat shot is so wonderful, love the emphasis on his hand and the depth of field in the photo. I can hear the music so I'm definitely connecting with what you've captured.
ReplyDeletewow what a wonderful photo heart connection. I so am with you on appreciating those things aswell and what a well composed image aswell and so moody and evocative.
ReplyDeleteSo true! Love the photo & so lovely to appreciate the little things.
ReplyDeleteIt's all in the details and you have captured this so richly.
ReplyDeleteWhat you say is so very true, Kim. So easy to skim over the important stuff when we are on a mission to do, do, do. Your photo does speak volumes about this. Great work. :)
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean!! Intrigues the soul!
ReplyDeletevery unique and a very in depth understanding of what the picture does for you.
ReplyDeleteWow Kim..both a photo AND words that move my soul.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous image Kim, and the words to go with it touch my heart too. I love this part: "That behind every single person there is a story, a truth and wisdom and a need for connection." Yes! We all matter. Connecting and witnessing the stories of others matters. I am so honored to hear and witness yours through the Photo-Heart Connection.
ReplyDeleteI love your image...and I know exactly what you mean.
ReplyDeleteAs I get older, I want time to slow down so I can take in every moment and pay more attention to every little things in my life.
this brought tears to my eyes. i immediately thought of my parents and how i just noticed the other day my father's hands looking older...and it made me sad. you're so spot on with your reference to not getting to rewind our moments...and that people matter...and all of our stories. thank you so much for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful, the image and your words. It is so true, the moments we get need to be appreciated in their own time...a lesson I could use right now:) Have a great weekend.
Tiffany
People matter. I love that, and you are so right!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful post and picture. The hands do tell so much about a person. It seems in this fast paced world we live we all need to slow down and appreciate and connect with the people around us. Thank you for a beautiful reminder.
ReplyDeleteWow, Kim, how has it taken me so long to discover your blog? I love your photo-heart connection post - this really resonates with me. Browsing around, I see we have quite a bit in common including a love and nature and the beach. My daughter is also a metal clay jewelry artist and I'm going to refer her to your blogs, too.

ReplyDeleteTo pay more attention. To enjoy the small moments. Perfectly put, so true. A beautiful image for the photo-heart connection
