. . . ever so gently!
"No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees, no fruits,
no flowers, no leaves, no birds - November!"
no flowers, no leaves, no birds - November!"
- Thomas Hood
I went for a walk, and not only was I finding fall, but apparently Mr. Thomas Hood has never been
to Texas in November . . .
. . . because I found some shade.
And not just some shine . . . but some Texas star shine.
Yes there are still butterflies . . .
My submission for Photo Art Friday - the theme this week is digital still life - and I'm very, very loosely
interpreting it this week. It's life, it's very still, and I digitally manipulated the photo by adding textures, ta da!
{ The first 3 textures I used are from Bonnie called Soft Sunset, Margin Call, Vintage Vellum and then
finished with Kim Klassen's texture Kristen }
I found the bees were still buzzing . . . I even got a little serenade from this one!
{ Foto Friday - texture}
And the plants are still growing fruit.
Vines are still flowering. . .
And not only are there still leaves, but they are turning beautiful colors against a bright blue fall sky!
And when it comes to the coast, here you will always find birds. These are our resident Quaker/Monk Parakeets and quite a chatty bird, almost always greeting me when I arrive for the sunrise.
"For man, autumn is a time of harvest, of gathering together. For nature, it is
a time of sowing, of scattering abroad."
I hope you all are enjoying a beautiful fall day where you are!
Love, Kim
XO

the bee capture is amazing! I see sun - I have not seen the sun around these parts (midwest) in over a week ++)
That bee, amazing!!! The sun has been hit or miss up here in Boston, the lovely gray November sky has replaced it!
Wow Kim, you've got some wonderful shots here. I love the one of the grass with the butterfly. And that bee looking right at the camera. Awesome!
The details on that bee are incredible! Love these all!
All are lovely! I especially love the texturing on the butterfly shot and I love the little bee as well.
That Mr. Bee looking at you is so awesome! I love seeing the world through your lens. And to see how different the seasons look depending where you are. Here is WI it is very stark. The leaves have left the grasp of their branches and the ground is brown and rust. But there is no snow.....yet. So there is still a palette of autumn left. Today the sky is a brilliant blue with fluffy wisps of white painted on that canvas. Thank you for sharing your beautiful images and for reminding me to look out and up! Enjoy the day. Erin
Mr. Bee is perfect!
Beautiful shots! You make me miss Texas.
Great pics Kim, Fall is in full swing here, it's looking like Winter is ready for us.
I am always so impressed at such close-up shots of bees - I can never manage that tight (chicken I guess). Gorgeous Fall falling first shot.
Well, yes - apparently the great state of Texas does November differently :) Love your digital still life - gorgeous texture work which gives the image such a wonderful painterly quality. Love the contrast of that bright pink against the soft green/golds of the background.
