The epitome of beauty
and of grace
in the water,
curiously they gaze back,
playfully as if to invite.
Sounds that are melodic
echo in the air,
harmonic like a symphony,
spontaneous and free.
The super surfer
a soul of the sea,
deeply spiritual
and one of the most endearing
creatures of the Earth,
your voice calls to me.

My in-laws were visiting for a long weekend and we took them on a Baywatch Dolphin Cruise off of Pier 21 in Galveston (there are no propellers as it's a jet drive boat and safe for the dolphins). It couldn't have been a more perfect day, not only weather wise, but for siting dolphins. You could hear them before you could see them, and see them we did! This is by far not only the most I have ever seen, but they were so playful, and as you can see at one point getting right next to the boat. I don't care how many times I see this incredible creature, it always feels just as magical as the first time....and all for only $10!
I dream of one day being able to swim with this amazing animal!!
Love, Kim
XO
So wonderful to see them playing! They truly are friends of seamen. Gorgeous photographs and words, Kim.

ReplyDeletethey really are such special creatures. how wonderful that they are in your own backyard, so to speak. love how you interpreted the textures and theme!
ReplyDeleteThere's something about dolphins that make me smile inside and warm the soul. You must have been so excited on the trip, I know I would have been. Great pics, you've made my evening.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous captures of amazing creatures! My step-daughter swam with the dolphins during a trip we made to the Florida Keys - I'm sure she considers that experience a highlight of her life.
ReplyDeleteThese are so fascinating. We did get to swim with some of them on one of the cruises that we did a few years ago. very interesting.
ReplyDeleteExcellent captures and choice of processing. Thanks for sharing with us landlocked folks.

Upon my husband's retirement we took a cruise to Bermuda, there we took a trip to a Dolphin Research Center where I was able to swim with them! It was the trill of a lifetime. As a bonus they let a group of women swim in a nearby pool where we sat in the water and were able to observe mommy dolphins and their new babies! Strict restrictions not to touch though! So glad you were get these great photos! I have a Groupon deal for about the same amount of money here in Florida.
ReplyDeleteLove your words as well! Great post!
