Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Another busy week . . .  I waited til the end of this week to find my prompts
and losing an hour of daylight at the end of the day as the clocks "fall" backwards
I'm going to have to be a little more organized about this. Okay, who am I kidding,
I'll fly by the seat of my pants as usual I'm sure! ; )

Here we go . . . .

1. Food: Food is just not one of those things I can photograph well so this is always a challenge for me and
especially when I left it until the very last minute. So this is what we had for dinner . . . individual pizza's
with homemade cornmeal dough made by my daughter. It was tasty though!!

2. Purple:  I may not have any purple in the name of fall leaves but I still have Angelonia's going strong in my
garden. And laughing ones at that . . . ha ha ha!! : )

3. In disguise:  I wasn't sure what I would do for this prompt, until I found this mask which is really a
Christmas tree ornament? And lucky for me my daughter let me give her some smoky eyes and modeled
for me. It was getting late and I was losing window light so she had to sit in the entry way with the door
open and of course the neighbor's walk by wondering what we're doing!!

4. Shapes:  Well everything around us is a shape, so I had trouble with this because I couldn't decide.
That is until I found this tree and it looks as though he had a tussle with Mr. Potato head and won!

5. Photographers choice: Oh this was an easy one. Last week my husband and I went to a Greek Festival
and this man was singing and playing the most incredible music (It was Greek to me). Sorry, couldn't
help myself! ; )  But, seriously it was so incredible and how do you not go up to someone like that and
tell them. I was having some trouble getting good pictures as they were under a tent and the light was, well
just not great, so I changed to my 50mm 1.8 and went back up to try again. Ummm, yeah while I was
kneeled down on the ground he came right over to me and it was pretty intense. In my flusterdness (is
that a word?) I kinda froze and couldn't change my focus point etc., but I do love how this one turned
    out!!

Well, that's all folks!! Hope your weekend is great!

Love, Kim
XO

P.S. Don't forget to join the scavenger hunt

Love the mask and the clarinet player shots the best. The different angle of view and DOF of the player and his instrument is fantastic.

Great set, love your Greek musician, the focus and perspective are wonderful! Your daughters eyes are so stunning, love the glittery mask! I feel like I can reach out and take a piece of pizza, looks yummy!

Wow Kim...I REALLY like that Greek musician photo! Very cool angle (even tho it was a surprise to you, haha). I think everything about it is perfect! And I am totally with you on not being able to photograph food well. I honestly think it is an art form all unto itself...and I missed out on getting any of that talent. By the way, I want to tell you that your commentary is brilliant. I so enjoy BOTH your photos AND your words.

I don't know, Kim, that pizza looks pretty darn good to me. Kudo's to your daughter for 1) making the crust and 2) posing for that delightful disguise. That b&w shot of the musician is supurb. Love the perspective and how cool was that to get an up close and personal shot!! Terrific photos all!!

You did wonderfully, Kim. Each photo is so creative. Love the mask photo and of course, the clarinet. I would be way too shy to ask, unless I had had a couple of glasses of wine first. ;)

How wonderful that the clarinet photo is so perfect! It tells the story of the instrument - the man who plays it and the music that sounds out!

Oh, the mask is a Christmas tree ornament?! Did you make it look like a mask? Hmm.. Anyway, it's good that your daughter was game enough to pose for this shot! What instrument was the man in the last pic playing? Is that a sax?
